Egg Carton Lilies

This might be the easiest ever egg carton flower craft for kids! It includes all the fun of painting and making curly pipe cleaner parts, but is a super simple and quick eco project. Especially good for little ones to make for Mother's Day — we've included a printable leaf template with little Mother's Day messages as an option.

How to make egg carton lilies

What you need: egg carton, acrylic or poster paints, pipe cleaners, scissors, glue, pencil or skewer, and the printed leaf template.

1. Cut the individual egg cups from the carton and trim them into petal shapes — snip 4–5 pointed petals around the rim of each cup.

2. Paint them in your favorite colors.

3. Use a pencil or skewer to curl the pipe cleaners into spirals or wavy stamens. Push 2–3 pipe cleaner pieces through a small hole in the bottom of each cup.

4. Print the leaf template and cut out the leaves. Write a Mother's Day message or a little note on each leaf if you like.

5. Attach the leaves to the pipe cleaner stems with a small piece of tape or glue.

6. Arrange your lilies in a vase or tie them into a bouquet with a ribbon — a beautiful handmade gift!
